Home to about 450 bird species, Murchison Falls is Uganda’s biggest National Park that protects a large section of untamed African Savannah and is bisected by the mighty River Nile. The Nile corridor provides year round water for the wildlife as well as a plethora of water birds including the rare shoe bill stock.

Day 1. Murchison Falls National Park
Depart Kampala after early breakfast and head to Murchison falls National Park with brief stops en route at places of interest. Arrive at the park as you look out for some bird species like the Grey Woodpecker, Kingfisher, Red throated bee eater, Red shouldered, Cuckoo-Shrike as you drive to your accommodation unit. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2. Lake Albert Delta Area
Take a boat ride along the Victoria Nile to the delta area on Lake Albert. This is home to Hippo and other enormous Nile crocodiles as well as special birds which include shoebill, secretary bird, Abyssinian roller and ground horn bill, Pied kingfishers, Red throated bee-eaters lining the banks, Goliath Heron, Saddle billed stock, Sacred Ibis, Fulvous whistling-duck, Senegal and water, Thick knees, Black-headed and long toed lapwing, Little bitten, Osprey, Red –necked falcon, Blue Breasted, Bee Breasted Bee eater, Vinaceous Dove and Grosbeak weaver. This afternoon cross for the birding to the top of the falls. Look for white-Fronted black chat, Rock prantincoles, white crested Turaco, Grey Woodpecker, Darter and Giant, Kingfisher, Red throated bee eater, Red shouldered, Cuckoo-Shrike, Western Violent-backed sunbird, Black headed Gonolek, Chestnut-crowned Sparrow-weaver, Brown Twinsport, Bar breasted fire finch, Red winged Pytillia and Red winged Grey Warbler, Bruce’s pigeon and Osprey. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive/Bird Watching, Birding Boat Cruise
Take a game drive on the northern bank of the Victoria Nile. Birds recorded here include; Egyptian plover, shoebill, red winged grey warbler, Rock pranticole, secretary bird, Bat hawk, Denham’s blustered, pel fishing owl White crested turaco, Vinceous dove, Senegal thick knee, Chest sparrow weaver, Carmine bee eater, Night jars (Pennant winged and standard winged) White rumped canary.
Afternoon embark on a relaxing launch cruise along the Nile River up to the bottom of the Thundering falls. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Budongo Forest
Start early birding the Budongo forest through the escarpment looking for Fox’s Cisticola White headed barbet Northern crombec, Singing Cisticola, Grey headed olive back, Black bellied fire finch, Madagascar Heron, Lesser masked weaver and Shikra. Afternoon birding at Budongo may be very productive. The forest is one of the largest and the most beautiful forest in Uganda. It’s home for African dwarf Kingfisher, African crowned eagle, Olive camarpotera, Yellow and Grey long bill, Chocolate- backed kingfisher, Red tailed. Ant-thrush, Velvet-mantled drongo, Rufous-crowned Erenomera, Iturbi batis and Nathan’s Francolin. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Budongo Forest Royal Mile And Busingiro.
Whole day birding at Royal mile Busingiro. Key species include ;African dwarf and chocolate backed kingfisher, Chestnut-crowned Eremomera, White spotted fufftail, Yellow and Grey long bills, Olive bellied Cuckoo, Blue-breasted kingfisher, Crowned eagle, Dusty long tailed Cuckoo, Forest flycatcher, Yellow-browed camaroptera and Cabanis bunting, Brown backed scrub-robin, Narnia trogon, Golden-crowned woodpecker, Rufous flycatcher-trush, Chestnut-capped flycatcher, Black headed paradise flycatcher, Little green sunbird, both Negrofinches, Western black headed ariole, African Emerald cuckoo, Red-tailed ant-trush, Yellow long bill, Forest robin, Scarly-breasted illadopsis, Rufous-crowned eremomela, the elusive lemon-bellied crombec, Crested malimbe and red headed bluebill. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Departure
After early breakfast, check out of your rooms and head back to Kampala arriving early evening. You may proceed to the airport for your onward flight.
