Queen Elizabeth National Park, filled with forests which are all habitants to big game, primates, chimpanzees and a variety of bird species; Giant African Elephants, herds of buffaloes, hippos and with Luck the shrewd leopard. Take on a relaxing launch cruise along the Kazinga channel, a wonderful way to view wildlife coming to water at the channel. Search for the habituated Gorillas in their wild home the Bwindi Forest.

Day 1: Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Queen Elizabeth National Parks is a must visit on the western safari circuit. The Volcanic actions in the distant past have left picturesque features like the block mountains, the scenic rift valley escarpments the breathtaking rift valley floor, crater lakes some filled with water and others dry, plateaus and other craters filled with forests which are all habitants to big game, primates, chimpanzees and a variety of bird species. The Journey to this park will take you past the equator line where you will be positioned with one foot to the northern hemisphere and the other on the southern hemisphere, take photo shots as you continue your journey through other interesting landscapes and features where you will make brief stops. Arrive in the famous Ankole land famed after it’s long horned cattle where we may break off for lunch. Afternoon proceed to the park through the scenic Bunyaruguru crater lakes region, arrive in the evening and check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Day 2: Game Drive And Kazinga Channel Cruise

Set out into the savanna grassland for a morning game drive as you lookout for the hunting lions. There are 99% chances of seeing all the 4 big five in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Look out for the Giant African Elephants, herds of buffaloes, hippos and with Luck the shrewd leopard. The park is also home to more than 660 bird species that have been recorded, making it a bird haven and an attraction for many birders. Lunch break After lunch take on a relaxing launch cruise along Kazinga channel, a wonderful way to view wild life coming to water at the channel in the afternoon heat. You will see the resident schools of Hippos, Elephants having a bath after a long trek through the grasslands, buffaloes wallowing in mud at the water banks and other wild life coming for a drink. The channel alone is a good birding spot and the most common bird species in the park include the Egyptian Goose, Spur-winged plover, African fish eagle, Pied kingfisher, Lesser flamingos and African skimmers. Day 3: Game Drive

After early breakfast, we check out of our rooms and drive to Bwindi Forest National Park. The drive takes us through the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park where we will carry out a brief game drive in search of tree climbing lions: captivating and gentle yet shrewd while hunting their prey. Later proceed to Bwindi Forest arriving in the evening. Check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Activity: Game drive, transfer to Bwindi.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking

After early breakfast, get your back packs with your cameras and packed lunch in, carry your raincoats and with your shoes fitted with hiking boots, head to the departure point for Gorilla tracking. You will be briefed by the ranger/guide at the park on what to expect on this encounter. Later set out into the forest in search of the habituated Gorillas in their wild home. The trek itself is interesting and with luck may yield sights of other wild species that seek refuge in the forest including elephants, chimpanzee, various small antelopes, monkeys and a variety of bird species. Follow the guides as they identify various clues like the gorilla nests, droppings to sometimes locate the location of these gentle giants as they wonder about the forest in search of a day’s meal. The trek may take just a few minutes to several hours depending on where the Gorillas are at the time of the trek. The encounter is rewarding as you get close to the gentle giants feeding, grooming while the youngsters swing from vine to vine in a delightful display. Spend an hour with the Gorillas upon location before returning to your accommodation. Time allowing, you may go for a community visit or a canoe ride depending on which part of this vast park you will have visited. Dinner and overnight stay at Lodge/ Camp. Day 5: Return to Kampala

Check out of your room after breakfast and depart at leisure as you head back to Kampala arriving in the evening. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Activity: Return to Kampala.
