1

Day 1. Kibale Forest National Park

Leave early for Kibale Forest National Park driving through the green country side, past forest reserves and tea plantations. Kibale Forest is the most magnificent of Uganda’s tropical rain forests and one of the most rewarding areas to explore. The Park is all about trekking Chimpanzees and prides itself as being Africa’s top protected area for primates numbering an estimated 13 species. The park also boasts of 372 bird species of which 60 percent are recorded Uganda’s Forest Birds. Arrive in time for Lunch. Afternoon we may go for the Crater Lake visit. The Crater Lake area formed during the ancient volcanic activity is a natural paradise off the beaten track as it takes you to the crater lakes another hidden pearl from the common attraction areas in Uganda. The scenic view is breath taking as you behold the various crater lakes, the Rwenzori Mountains, tea plantations, Kibale Forest National Park, Lake George and Kichwamba escarpment in the rift Valley. Retire at your accommodation unit for Dinner and overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Activities: Forest birding.

Day 2. Kibale Forest Chimp Trek – Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, we embark on a Chimpanzee trek in the Forest. Chimpanzees are our closest living relatives, sharing more than 98% of our genetic blue print. Humans and chimps are also thought to share a common ancestor who lived some four to eight million years ago. We set out into this large block of rain forest with a trained guide looking out for the chimps which are generally fruit and plant eaters but can also feed on eggs and meat. The chimps are always on the move looking for food, and with the leadership of the ranger/guide; we trek in this jungle with other opportunities of viewing different bird species and a variety of butterflies. Do not forget to carry your binoculars as the chimps tend to foliage in the tree canopies. The chimp trek may yield sightings of other primates like the Colobus monkeys, Baboons, Red tailed and Velvet monkeys among others. Upon location, we will spend an hour viewing the chimps before returning to the lodge for Lunch. After lunch, check out of your lodge and head to Queen Elizabeth National Parks. The Volcanic actions in the distant past have left picturesque features like the block mountains, the scenic rift valley escarpments the breathtaking rift valley floor, crater lakes some filled with water and others dry, plateaus and other craters filled with forests which are all habitants to big game, primates, chimpanzees and a variety of bird species. Day 3: Game Drive And Kazinga Channel Cruise

Set out into the savanna grassland for a morning game drive as you lookout for the hunting lions. There are 99% chances of seeing all the 4 big five in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Look out for the Giant African Elephants, herds of buffaloes, hippos and with Luck the shrewd leopard. The park is also home to more than 660 bird species that have been recorded, making it a bird haven and an attraction for many birders. Lunch break After lunch take on a relaxing launch cruise along Kazinga channel, a wonderful way to view wild life coming to water at the channel in the afternoon heat. You will see the resident schools of Hippos, Elephants having a bath after a long trek through the grasslands, buffaloes wallowing in mud at the water banks and other wild life coming for a drink. The channel alone is a good birding spot and the most common bird species in the park include the Egyptian Goose, Spur-winged plover, African fish eagle, Pied kingfisher, Lesser flamingos and African skimmers. Return to the lodge/camp for diner and overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Activity: Game Drive, Launch Cruise

Day 4: Drive To Kampala

After early breakfast, check out of your room and drive at leisure as we look out for game. We drive to Kampala through the Mbarara route. We will drive through the Ankole Land famous for its long horned cattle where we will break off for Lunch. Later continue your journey arriving Kampala in the evening where you may be dropped at either your Hotel or be transferred to the Airport for your home bound flight. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Activity:Return to Kampala.
